Social economic study on the impact of micro hydro power plants in Rwanda

In this project, IBC assessed the pre-electrification livelihood status of electricity warrants in sampled community settlements, assessed the access, employment and income-earning opportunities and the state of key human development indicators (health

Project Mission:

Key role performed by IBC Group were:

  • Preparation of Technical Proposal, feasibility study & preliminary requirements for the project;
  • Site visits and surveying by IBC team of engineers in order to collect baseline info

Deliverables:

  • Training of enumerators on social economic impact of micro hydropower;
  • Tender documents;
  • Different reports (Inception report, Periodic reports, final report);
  • Technical interpretation of social economic impact for micro hydropower in Rwanda;
  • Providing health and safety training for all personnel;
  • Inform local communities about work and dangers related to micro hydropower plants;
  • Public education to raise villagers’ awareness of dangers of electricity and how to utilize the system safely;
  • Improvement and proposing appropriate methods related to management of micro hydropower plants.

Current Status:

The project is 100% completed.
